Jonathan Pofsky Sex: Male; MFT # MFC43662 (Since 2006) 550 B Miller Ave., Mill Valley 94941 (415) 577-5338 info@breathesomatics.com Fee scale: $70 - $100 www.breathesomatics.com DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my work weaves together both eastern and western psychologies with more traditional cognitive/behavioral models and experiential somatic-based techniques. This integrative approach uses mindfulness to examine how we suffer and how we find freedom from our suffering. In addition to talk therapy, our work may include therapeutic touch, movement, or work with the breath. Together, we work to co-create the right conditions for awakening what has fallen asleep and calming what has grown unruly. This allows us to uncover the life skills and resources both within us and around us to support growth and transformation within the therapeutic process. My practice consists of individuals, couples, and adolescents. I work extensively with issues such as: Depression Self-esteem/Inner critic Anxiety Anger Management Grief/Bereavement Relationship/Marital issues Spiritual issues Life transitions/ Rites of Passage Body Image Trauma Resolution VIPASSANA/MEDITATION BACKGROUND I have been practicing vipassana meditation for ten years. I have done almost 50 days of residential retreat at Spirit Rock over that time and many other daylong retreats.
