Shauna Reiff Sex: Female; MFT # MFC44092 (Since 2006) 2001 Blake St., Berkeley 94704 (510) 550-4886 www.eastbaypsychotherapy.net Fee scale: $110 Sliding scale available, some insurance accepted DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE I work with adult and adolescent individuals and couples. I combine years of solid psychodynamic/analytic training and experience, with mindfulness practices to create a safe space where healing and lasting change can occur. By listening deeply, holding a compassionate, non-judgmental stance, clients learn to access and release painful, often intolerable feelings and reconnect to their beauty, and innate wisdom. We work to better understand your personal goals and values, unravel your story and make sense of unhealthy patterns, creating more satisfaction and meaning as you walk through the world. I believe in living life fully and engaging with the present moment as much as possible, which is challenging at times. I bring compassion and curiosity to my work, and am interested in the totality of the self: mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Clients have said I am engaged, perceptive, non-judgmental, and effective. I offer ongoing MBSR classes. Please check my website for further information. VIPASSANA/MEDITATION BACKGROUND I been practicing and studying meditation and yoga since 1994. Before discovering Vipassana and Spirit Rock in 1998, I attended many retreats in the Sivananda/Vedanta tradition. Since that time I have sat multiple retreats, and have attended a bi-weekly Kalyana Mitta group for 4 years. I have a strong yoga and meditation practice, and sit at least one 10-day retreat annually. RELEVANT CLINICAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE San Francisco State MS in Counseling Psychology; Two-year post-degree training in Relational Theory and Therapy, and a one year advanced training in Couples & Adolescent therapy at the Women's Therapy Center in El Cerrito, California; Board of the Women's Therapy Center from 2003 -2008, Board Chair from 2007 until mid 2008.
