Vipassana meditation practices support us in becoming aware of our
present moment experience. Mindfulness-oriented psychotherapy can
provide a context for understanding and moving beyond our automatic
responses to events in our lives. By making meaning of the relevance
of our personal history, we are often more able to release the
judgments we hold against ourselves and others, to have compassion
for the reality of our suffering, and to find skillful ways to support
ourselves during stressful times.

As a psychologist I attempt to assist individuals and couples to take
steps toward their unique potentials for healing and growth. Many of
my clients want ways to heal the pain of transition, grief and loss,
traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, relationship problems,
chronic illness or stress. Others seek to understand more fully their
dreams, unconscious patterns of behavior, or spiritual experiences.
They use their work with me to expand already full and meaningful

Meditation and spiritual practice have been a part of my life since I
was in high school. I completed my graduate school studies at the
Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in 1999. In 2001, I began
practicing mindfulness meditation, sitting consistently, and attending
regular retreats. In 2010 I was fortunate to participate in a 2-month
retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
