Psychotherapy offers a profound opportunity to deeply understand
ourselves and how we move in the world. By bringing mindful
awareness and compassion to the exploration of our lifes challenges,
we can discover ways in which our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors
limit the full expression of our aliveness. Working with couples,
individual adults, and teens, I seek to help clear the path for each
person to connect to his or her innate wisdom. I strive to bring
compassion, understanding, and humor to my work with people who
are struggling with a myriad of issues, such as navigating difficult life
transitions, parenting, anxiety or depression, grief and loss, childhood
traumas, and other relational or spiritual challenges.


I have a regular sitting practice and I have sat over 25 retreats at
Spirit Rock and other retreat centers. I am the staff dharma teacher
at Spirit Rock, where I also lead the weekly women's class and various
daylongs. I began teaching the teens at Spirit Rock in 2002 and I was on the
Spirit Rock Teen Council for five years. I sat on the Family Council at Spirit Rock for 5 years. I
also teach a monthly women's group and parenting classes at Spirit
Rock. I am a graduate of the Community Dharma Leaders training program (CDL-5).


I received my Masters in Transpersonal Psychology from JFK. I have
an extensive background in existential-humanistic psychology. I have almost
completed the three year training program in Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing.
I hold a Masters in Education from Stanford and I am a member of the CA bar;
this professional background offers a breadth of perspective and
understanding. In 2005, I published an article in the Journal of
Humanistic Psychology entitled, Existential Psychotherapy with Adult
Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. I have been heavily influenced
