VIPASSANA/MEDITATION BACKGROUND
Started meditating in 1974. Began participating at Spirit Rock around 1994. Joined Family Council, then Board of Directors in 1999; on the Board of Spirit Rock for nine years. Graduate of Community Dharma Leaders Program in 2005. Lead a weekly sitting group in San Rafael. Teach daylongs at Spirit Rock. Founded the Wellspring Institute for Neuroscience and Contemplative Wisdom. Wrote Buddha’s Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom (being published in 18 languages).

RELEVANT CLINICAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
BA UCLA summa cum laude. Ph.D. Wright Institute in Clinical Psychology. Thousands of hours of human potential, spiritual, and psychological trainings since 1974. First author of Mother Nurture (Penguin, 2002). Extensive writings and talks about the practical applications of the intersection of psychology, brain science, and Buddhism at my website.
