DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE
I use a variety of approaches depending on the needs of the client, including Coherence Therapy, psychodyamic depth therapy, Focusing, and EMDR. Coherence Therapy is an effective, non-pathologizing and compassionate therapeutic method that helps clients discover and transform unwanted, painful patterns. The therapy is dynamic and experiential, assisting clients to uncover and let go of (often unconscious) perceptions of themselves and reality that have significantly limited them. Recently I've been exploring sensoriomotor therapy, a body-oriented approach to psychotherapy that is particularly helpful when trauma is involved. Encouraging non-judgmental mindful awareness is a thread that runs through all of my clinical work.
I'm a white woman interested in cross-cultural/race/class issues and have been involved in anti-racism work for over ten years.

I've been attending Vipassana retreats since 1987 and co-facilitated a Kalyana Mitta group for about ten years. I have also been on the board of Buddhist Peace Fellowship and on the Diversity Council at Spirit Rock.
